Caesar — The Shift Cipher

The problem

Caesar ciphers are usually taught with a static diagram — you read about the shift, you don't feel it.

The approach

Built a rotating dial you turn by hand, with the ciphertext updating live as you rotate, so the mechanism is something you manipulate rather than read about.

The result

A small teaching tool that makes the shift cipher intuitive in under a minute of playing with it.
